DASH Diet Weight Loss & Maintenance

I started my DASH diet Facebook page in early January 2012, at the request of some very nice ladies over at Marla Heller’s DASH Diet Action plan page.  Her guidance and information was most helpful to me during my weight loss and continues to be during my current weight maintenance process.  My partner and I developed this web site after receiving many requests for a website link through Facebook.

I started the DASH diet in late spring 2009 to reduce blood pressure and then later to lose weight.  I lost 90 pounds on the DASH diet over 18 months, between January 2010 and summer 2011 and I have maintained the weight loss since that time. I am no longer hypertensive either thanks to DASH and exercise! I have maintained a total 129 pound weight loss for 7 years now.

I am a wife, mother of a son and a daughter, and a grandma to my son’s two beautiful daughters.  I currently work full time in the health care field.  I have an MEd in Educational Psychology with a specialization in Special Education. My undergrad degree is BA-CYC in child protection.  I also have BC Early Childhood and Infant Toddler education (ECE) certification.
